Research Digest: Culture and Placemaking

This digest draws together the current research on the relationship between culture and placemaking. Placemaking has been defined in many ways and from multiple perspectives, often depending on differing agendas from a diverse range of stakeholders.

For example, the way residents view making a place where they want to live will probably be very different from how a property developer or town planning department thinks about it. This digest specifically focuses on how and why arts and culture play a part in placemaking and what that means for arts, cultural and heritage organisations, practitioners, policymakers and funders.
