Learning Wayfinders
In this self-directed Wayfinder Learning Module we will introduce you to the some of the core principles of Cultural Placemaking and why it matters.Â
Why Wayfinder?
Our Wayfinder Learning Modules have been designed to help you navigate through the basic concepts and principles of Cultural Placemaking. They are designed to be easy to access and explore, structured in short bite-sized chapters – or Waypoints – each marking different key points or concepts and signposting opportunities for further exploration.
Who is this Wayfinder for?
Our Wayfinders are recommended for anyone who would like to improve or develop their understanding of the key principles of place-based development generally, with a particular focus on the role that investing in creative and cultural development can play in this process. This introductory Wayfinder is intended to provide a beginner’s guide to cultural placemaking, and help readers navigate current thinking. It is not intended to be encyclopaedic in scope, or an exhaustive list of information. We have designed this to explore the key aspects of cultural placemaking, with links to additional resources, case studies, and examples depending on the reader’s interest.

How are Wayfinders structured?

Please click on the Curriculum tab for a preview of the Waypoint titles. The Wayfinder has been designed to build on the learning from each Waypoint sequentially, but there is no requirement to complete any Waypoint before moving on to the next. So, if you wish, you may dip in and out of each Waypoint according to your own needs and interests.Â
