About the event…
This event brings together policymakers in national and local government, academics, researchers, the creative sector and leading cultural organisations to explore the theme of sustainable and inclusive growth through culture.
Re-imagining Place marks the culmination of the five first round Cultural Development Fund (CDF) projects and offers opportunities to celebrate, share learning, connect and be inspired by those projects in Grimsby, Plymouth, Thames Estuary, Wakefield and Worcester.
Full programme and speakers will be announced shortly, with key topics to include:
- Capital projects – developing cultural infrastructure, investment models, managing risk, private/public/local authority partnerships, role of developers, planning policies, grassroots development, community ownership
- Activating spaces – festivals, public art, commissioning, community engagement, grassroots festivals/events, audience engagement, developing and celebrating pride in place, impacting positively on wellbeing, diversification of town centres and prosperity
- Developing people, businesses and communities – skills development, business support, developing and supporting freelancers, jobs growth, leadership development, workforce development, capacity building, inclusivity
- Legacy and sustainability – meaningful partnerships and collaborations, galvanising and supporting networks & connections to place, developing new business models, cluster development, cross-sector development, attracting inward investment, environmental consciousness, thriving places of creative ambition, confidence and resilience
